Culture and Tourism Department holds Hadrah, hundreds of participants join the competition.

Batam Culture and Tourism Department – Head of the Culture and Tourism Department Batam City, Ardiwinata opened the Hadrah competition representing the Deputy Governor of Riau Islands, Marlin Agustina Rudi which took place at One Batam Mall, Sunday (17/9/2023). This competition was attend by 22 Hadrah groups from Indonesian Qasidah Art Institute Batam City.

In his speech, Ardi said Hadrah is an art in the form of singing that breathes Islam accompanied by tambourines. Previously, Hadrah participants had attended training held by Batam City Government through Batam City Culture and Tourism Department.

“Hadrah is an art that can be developed, we encourage them so Hadrah in Batam can be different from other regions”, he said.

Ardi hopes the participants can give their best effort. Through this event, he invited participants to improve their appearance, vocal voice, Hadrah music, and so on.

“The City Government is ready to support, let us unite, cooperate, develop, and fill Batam City as Batam New City, Batam Belongs to Us”, He explained.

He conveyed, Mayor of Batam who also serves as Head of BP Batam, Muhammad Rudi dedicated Batam City as a tourism city. It can be seen from the infrastructure that is being developed to provide comfort for tourists.

In addition, Batam city has complete facilities, such as 241 hotels, 1037 restaurants, shopping centers, and a variety of tourist destinations, one of which is One Batam Mall. “Thank you to the Management of One Batam Mall for providing time and place for the participants of the Hadrah competition. One Batam Mall is one of the best malls in Batam and in the future there will be many events held at One Batam Mall”, He said.

“Batam has a variety of attractions, both natural, cultural and artificial attractions, Hadrah competition is one of them. I also thought about how we would make a muri record for the most Hadrah participants, held another Hadrah festival”, He said.

Deputy Governor of Riau Islands, Marlin Agustina Rudi appreciated the implementation of training events and Hadrah competitions. This event was the initiation of Marlin as Chief of the Indonesian Qasidah Art Institute Batam City with the Head of Culture and Tourism Department Batam City, Ardiwinata.

“Congratulations to Mr. Ardi for compiling this program extraordinarily”, She said some time ago.

Marlin conveyed this event is accordance with the vision and mission of Riau Islands, which the realization of a prosperous, competitive and cultured. Batam City has a variety of cultures, not only Malay culture but all cultures exist in Batam City.

The winner of Hadrah competition will get cash, the first place winner gets 12 million rupiah, the second place gets 10 million rupiah, the third place gets 8 million rupiah and the first runner-up gets 6 million rupiah.
