Disbudpar Batam – Kepala Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata (Disbudpar) Kota Batam, Ardiwinata menerima kunjungan Komunitas Baju Kuruang Basiba Sumatera (KBS) Barat Kota Batam, di ruang rapat Disbudpar pada Senin (11/1). Kunjungan tersebut adalah dalam rangka mengenalkan KBS Kota Batam yang baru dilantik pada 12 November 2020 lalu.
“Kami Komunitas Baju Kuruang Basiba Sumatera Barat bersilaturrahmi untuk mengenalkan tentang komunitas sekaligus meminta masukan dari Pak Ardi tentang kebudayaan,” kata Beti, pendiri KBS Kota Batam.
Tak hanya itu, kunjungan ini juga untuk meminta masukan terkait pelestarian baju kuruang Basiba wanita Minang Sumatera Barat Kota Batam sehingga dapat lebih dikenal oleh para millenial Kota Batam.
Berdiri tiga bulan, KBS terus mensosialisasikan komunitas diberbagai kegiatan. Kemudian pada 24 Desember 2020 Pendiri KBS Kota Batam mendapatkan penghargaan dari Garnita Malahayati Kepri kategori Wanita Pengiat Budaya.
Dikatakannya, komunitas ini dibentuk awalnya dengan harapan agar bisa melestarikan budaya sehingga makin dikenal warga Minang di Kota Batam.
“Baju ini sudah lama tak dipakai oleh wanita Minang, kita mulai menggalakkan kembali agar wanita Minang di Batam untuk mencintai kembali busana ini,” ucapnya.
Dalam pertemuan tersebut Beti mengucapkan terima kasih atas masukan yang diberikan Kepala Disbudpar Kota Batam dan akansegera mewujudkan sehingga budaya Basiba lestari di Kota Batam.
“Masukan dari Pak Ardi sangat bagus, seperti modifikasi baju Basiba lebih modern dan di kombinasi dengan kain lain seperti Batik Batam. Kami jjuga akan berkoordinasi dengan pemangku adat Sumbar,” terangnya.
Kepala Disbudpar Kota Batam, Ardiwinata menyambut baik kunjungan dari KBS Kota Batam. Adanya pertemuan ini bisa saling berbagi tentang budaya masing-masing.
“Terima kasih kunjungannya, kegiatan ini saling berbagi ilmu. Saya sebagai Kepala Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata merangkul semua budaya,” ujar dia.
Dalam kesempatan itu Ardi memberi masukan kepada KBS Kota Batam untuk mengenalkan busana kepada pemuda Kota Batam namun dengan rancangan busana yang modern tanpa meninggalkan busana yang asli.
KBS juga bisa mengenalkan busana tersebut dalam acara-acara spesial, tambahnya.
“Kenalkan busana melalui peragaan, dan busananya dirancang oleh desainer yang telah mahir di fashion,” ucapnya.
The Head of Batam City Culture and Tourism Department Having a Visitors from the Kuruang Basiba Dress Community
The Culture and Tourism Department of Batam City – The Head of Batam City Culture and Tourism Department having a visitors from the Kuruang Basiba West Sumatera (KBS) Dress Community of Batam City, at the Culture and Tourism Department meeting room on Monday (11/1). The visit aims to introduce KBS Batam City which was inaugurated on November 12th, 2020.
“We, the Kuruang Basiba West Sumatera Dress Community, stay in touch to introduce the community, also we need Mr. Ardi’s an advice/input about culture,” said Beti, the founder of KBS Batam City.
Not only that, this visit was also to ask for an advice related to the preservation of the Kuruang Basiba Dress of Minang woman, West Sumatra, Batam City, so the millennials in Batam City much better known about that dress.
Established for three months, KBS continues to socialize the community in every activities. On December 24, 2020, the founder of KBS Batam City received a reward from Garnita Malahayati Kepri for the category of Women Cultural Activists.
She said, this community was formed initially with the hope of preserving the culture, so the Minang people in Batam City will be more known.
“This dress has not been worn by Minang women for a long time, we’re starting to encourage Minang women in Batam to love this outfit again,” he said.
During the meeting, Beti expressed his gratitude for an advice that given by The Head of Batam City Culture and Tourism Department and will immediately realize it, so that the Basiba culture is sustainable in Batam City.
“The input from Pak Ardi is very good, such as the modification of the Basiba dress to be more modern and combined with other fabrics such as Batam Batik. We will also coordinate with West Sumatra customary stakeholders,” he explained.
The Head of Batam City Culture and Tourism Department, Ardiwinata welcomed the visitors from KBS Batam City. The existence of this meeting they can share about each other’s culture.
“Thank you for visiting us, this activity is for sharing a knowledge. As the Head of Batam City Culture and Tourism Department, I embrace all cultures,” he said.
On that occasion, Ardi gave an advice to KBS Batam City to introduce the dress to Batam City youths, but with modern clothing designs without leaving the original clothes.
KBS can also introduce the dress in special events, he added.
“Introduce the dress through the shows, and the dresses are designed by the designers who are proficient in fashion,” he said.
